Hero Project: Odysseus

For Hon Eng III, we have to come up with a multi-media project for the hero's journey. I am going to (hopefully) create a children's story and have it published in hardcover by lulu. But for a children's story, you have to have pictures!

Here is my Odysseus picture

Original Photo From I Friday

I decided to post the photo that I used for my Illustraion Friday-80's. Whenever I was in CA, I took many pictures of landscapes, stairs, table setups, etc. It would be hard to find one picture from that trip that is of an actual person.

Illustration Friday: 80's

I know nothing about the 80's, but I do know that you have to climb 80 some stairs to get the the top of the Sony Metreon Center in San Francisco

I was born a short 5 days out of the 80's decade. To tell you the truth, though, I did this piece just because of a lack of will to actually draw something from the 80's.
This piece is a photo that I took at the Metreon Center in SF last year, and I pastelled over it to enhance and bring out color. The photo is completely covered in pastel, so there are no signs of the actual photo showing.
(I have been doing these I Fridays way out of the box lately. Maybe next week I'll go for the more literal)

Illustration Friday: Buzz

How High Does The Sycamore Grow...If You Cut It Down Then You'll
Never Know

This was quickly put together due to failure of other concepts....it's not suppose to be amazing or anything.
This concept came from my meaning of buzz, which is whenever a person drinks. (Yeah...That's right! I have a college brother) Another word for drunk is wasted...so this is world wasted. It is a tree in an industrial park. How long do you think it will take them to buzz that tree down? (another meaning??) Industrial Parks are a waste of land.

Same Photo...New Look

I find it stress relieving to color on top of old photos. I can make things new colors and it is a lot of fun! Consider it...artistically touching up a photograph?
